The past pupils of two Cork schools are joining forces to honour one of the country’s greatest education innovators.

A major documentary on John Holland, the Irishman who invented the modern submarine, is being planned to mark the centenary of his death next year.

THE countdown has begun for the thousands of runners preparing for the Cork marathon, which takes place on June 4. For John Philip Murray, an artist from Lissardagh, Co Cork, running the marathon is a challenge he set himself on his 60th birthday.
