A young islander has to seek out help from a demigod to save her people.

Tiana (Anika Noni Rose) dreams of the day she will open a restaurant in New Orleans and serve up her father’s signature dish of gumbo. Those dreams are put on hold when Tiana is approached by a smooth-talking frog, who claims to be Prince Naveen of Malvonia (Bruno Campos).

Three cheers for Disney who have returned to traditional animation and throw in another three for coming up with this funny, charming, tuneful story with all the right messages about being true to yourself, working hard, honouring your family and making a go of things.

This reportedly cost up to $140m to make and took a mere $40m on its Stateside release, which means that heads will roll in the Magic Kingdom.
