For a second night, migrants have repeatedly rushed the tunnel linking France and England, leaving one man crushed to death by a truck in the chaos, deepening tensions surrounding the thousands of people camped in Calais, the French port city.

Cross-Channel travellers are being warned to stay alert after a Eurotunnel passenger travelling back to the UK found a stowaway in the back seat of her car.

Channel Tunnel operator Eurotunnel today said the number of cars using its service rose 5% as it won market share from rival ferry companies.
