A JURY yesterday failed to reach a verdict in the trial of Eleanor Joel and her partner John Costen, who had denied the unlawful killing, by neglect, of Evelyn Joel.

The jury has retired to consider a verdict in the case of a Wexford couple on trial for the unlawful killing due to neglect of a woman almost six years ago.
