HIGH School Clonmel, backboned by five members of Tipperary’s All-Ireland minor football winning squad, got their Corn Uí Mhuirí Group C campaign off to a successful start when they defeated Tralee CBS by 2-8 to 0-11 in Newcastle West yesterday afternoon.

FOR the first time in over half a century, Rochestown College will partake in the Corn Uí Mhuirí this afternoon when they face Clare’s St Flannan’s in Group A of this season’s competition.

INTERMEDIATE School Killorglin fought back to subdue the challenge of newcomers West Clare Colleges and qualify for the quarter-finals of the Corn Uí Mhuirí after a hard fought contest at Croagh yesterday.

LAST year’s beaten finalists De La Salle Macroom will contest the knockout stages of this year’s Corn Ui Mhuirí after a facile victory in yesterday’s Group B clash in Rathkeale.
