Engine trouble may be behind the Turkish Airlines crash in the Netherlands in which nine people died, the head of the agency investigating the accident said today.

A Turkish Airlines jetliner plummeted out of the mist and ploughed into a muddy field near Amsterdam's main airport, but most people on board - 125 people - survived. The nine dead included both pilots.
