COMPETITION to capture Irish TV news audiences is set to intensify from next month with confirmation by Sky News that it will start its specialist news bulletins for viewers in the Republic on May 10.

SKY News has moved more clouds on to TV3’s horizon after poaching another two well-known faces from its rival to join Grainne Seoige on its new Irish news service.
