A man who admitted his part in a surveillance operation on the Dublin headquarters of a number of specialist Garda units has been acquitted of IRA membership by the Special Criminal Court.

IN the last eight days, two men have been gunned down and two more have been left counting their lucky stars they are still alive.

GARDAÍ investigating the killing of Jason Egan in Dublin on Friday night are considering the possibility the murder was carried out by former members of the Provisional IRA.
