KENNY EGAN kept his Olympic dream alive with an emphatic victory over fellow Dubliner Michael Frayne (St. Mary’s) in the Elite Boxing Championship quarter-finals at the National Stadium on Saturday night.

THE Elite national senior boxing championships got under way at the National Stadium last night when an action-packed programme featured eight welterweight contests involving some of the best boxers in the world.

OF the 132 men who have hurled 15 SHC matches or more with Tipperary, 125 have won an All-Ireland medal on the field of play.

DARREN SUTHERLAND has gone back to his roots in defence of his national senior middleweight title and he cannot believe that some people have written him off in advance of the anticipated showdown between himself and Darren O’Neill in the finals of the national senior championships at the National Stadium tomorrow night.
