The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation is calling on members of the public to join them in a lunchtime protest, over what they have described as the appalling overcrowding of our hospitals.

Nurses at Beaumont Hospital have called on patients and the public to join them as they hold the first in a series of lunchtime protests at 1pm today.

The Labour Relations Commission are intervening to try and prevent strike action at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, from going ahead.

Nurses will hold a one-hour protest to highlight overcrowding at the Emergency Department at the University Hospital in Galway.

THE HSE is expected to close the 90-bed St Brigid’s Nursing Home in Crooksling in Dublin over the next three to six months.
