From Rory Gallagher to Frank O’Connor, there’s an eclectic mix in a new anthology of Cork writings, says Colette Sheridan

A symposium will be held at University College Cork (UCC) today to mark the 50th anniversary of the Cork-born writer Frank O’Connor’s death and to celebrate his legacy.

Celebrating ten years in existence, the Cork World Book Fest (April 22-26), organised by Cork City Library and Triskel Christchurch, is one of the city’s most popular cultural events.

UNIVERSITY College Cork (UCC) has acquired the exclusive custody of correspondence papers of the celebrated Irish writer Seán O’Faoláin.
