A HARD-FOUGHT third division AIB league fixture at Musgrave Park ended in victory for the home side yesterday.

THE supreme champion at the Connemara Pony Show was bred and owned by a local man, Henry O’Toole, Faulkeeragh, Clifden. Castle Urchin is by Abbeyleix Owen out of Castle Dame, and was also chosen as the confined champion of the show and the best mare aged eight to nine years.

THE celebrated Connemara Pony Show went ahead in glorious weather at Clifden in Co Galway yesterday after a night of heavy rain.

MINISTER of State Noel Treacy yesterday paid tribute to the organisers of the Connemara Pony Society and its dedicated breeders.
