TIPPERARY champions Thurles Sarsfields put their poor divisional form behind them as they hammered Knockavilla Kickhams 6-21 to 1-12 in the first round of the county senior hurling championship at The Ragg.

FORMER manager Billy Morgan claims to have been told by a current Cork selector that the county will not win a All-Ireland football title without the services of James Masters, who withdrew from the panel earlier this year.

There is still no end in sight to the impasse between the Cork panels and the County Board over the right of the senior managers to choose his own selectors.
