A drug addict who took part in a violent raid on a post office which left staff and customers terrified has today been sentenced to eight years for robbery and possession of firearms.

A Tallaght teenager who took part in a robbery in which he dropped a DVD player on a garda’s head has been given a three-year suspended sentence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

A crack addict who has spent most of his adult life in jail has been sentenced to another five years term by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for a string of violent robberies and a burglary.
