A bodybuilder who got involved in the sale of anabolic steroids in Cork pleaded guilty to the offences yesterday at Cork Circuit Criminal Court.

Gardaí who were suspicious of drug-related activity in a house at Passage West, Co Cork, obtained a warrant to search the home and found a cannabis bar worth over €500 in a kitchen cupboard.

A man described by gardaí as a trusted member of a leading drugs gang in Cork City who was caught with a €17,000 bar of cocaine got a fully suspended sentence.

One of the men on trial for murdering a young man in the Mahon area of Cork last year went home and told his aunt minutes after the incident that “things got out of hand.”
