Bail was refused yesterday for a man who allegedly threatened a young woman he would hang her and petrol-bomb her home.

A father-of-nine threatened to destroy a new €5 million Traveller housing facility in Cork city and told gardaí: “We’ll make your lives hell in the new site.”

Two men who knocked an elderly man to the ground and robbed him of €40 were jailed yesterday.
