A man who raped and sexually assaulted a child more than 20 years ago in County Mayo has been given a 10 year prison sentence by Mr Justice Peter Charleton at the Central Criminal Court.

The Mayo man on trial at the Central Criminal Court on 40 charges of alleged rape and sexual assault of a child in the 1980s totally denied her allegations when interviewed by gardaí.
