Talks between Sinn Féin and the Police Service of Northern Ireland focussed on trying to build a better understanding of each other, Chief Constable Hugh Orde said today.

The funeral has taken place in Belfast of the former republican prisoner Frank McGreevy who was beaten to death in his home.

The PSNI are questioning a man about a brutal attack on a former IRA prisoner which left him critically injured and on a life support machine.
