The boss who presided over disastrous losses at BT pocketed almost £3m (€3.44m) in his last year with the telecoms giant, it was disclosed today.

Telecoms giant BT issued a surprise profits warning today after its division providing services to multinational companies failed to hit targets.

BT today announced the appointment of François Barrault as President, BT International, taking responsibility for BT's operations in Europe, Americas and Asia-Pacific.
