The HSE has inadvertently highlighted how it manages upcoming negative news after accidently including the Irish Examiner in a group email to senior officials.

A mother whose baby was stillborn after she was transferred 114km, from a Kerry hospital to Cork, in an ambulance that did not have the necessary blood on board, has been awarded €170,000 damages by the High Court.

A mother who lost her baby because a hospital sent her on a two hour ambulance journey without a blood transfusion on board has been awarded damages of €170,000.

“I lost a son — he died completely unnecessarily.”
