New Zealand’s winning run was brought to an end as South Africa took the title at the IRB World Sevens Series event in Adelaide.

New Zealand won their ninth Cathay Pacific/Credit Suisse Hong Kong Sevens title and first since 2001 with a 26-12 victory over South Africa.

South Africa Sevens coach Paul Treu has announced their 15-man squad for the IRB Rugby World Cup Sevens 2005 to be played in Hong Kong from 18-20.
