Tunisia’s parliament has effectively disbanded the government of US-trained agricultural economist Habib Essid after passing a vote of no confidence in the prime minister.

Tunisia has reason to fear a terror attack. The only democracy that emerged from the turmoil of the 2011 Arab Spring has seen more of its young men join the Islamic State group than any other nation, and many have returned, battle-hardened, to spread radical ideologies back home.

Gunmen in military uniforms stormed Tunisia’s national museum yesterday, killing 18 foreign tourists and two Tunisians in one of the worst militant attacks in a country that has largely escaped the region’s Arab Spring turmoil.
