JOHN JOE NEVIN made a somewhat tame exit from the Olympics last night when he went down 9-2 to Mongolia’s athlete of the year, Badar-Uugan Enkhbat.

John Joe Nevin bowed out of the Olympic Games today after being outpointed by Mongolian bantamweight Badar - Uugan Enkhbat in a last 16 bout at the Workers Indoor Arena in Beijing today.

Ireland's John Joe Nevin has beaten African champion, Abdelhalim Ourradi of Algeria, in his heat of the Bantamweight 54kg competition.
