FIRE safety legislation and regulations will not work if people don’t take personal prevention measures to avoid the risk of fire, it was claimed yesterday.

Gardaí in Dundalk have confirmed a fire which killed two young sisters and their father was started accidentally.

The three members of a family killed in a fire earlier today in Dundalk, Co Louth, have been named.
