An award of €67,500 damages to a Dunnes Stores worker over an arm injury suffered when lifting a 10kg bag of potatoes has been overturned by the Court of Appeal.

Dunnes Stores head Margaret Heffernan ignored complaints by rival supermarket giant Aldi alleging her company was carrying on a misleading comparative advertising campaign in "flagrant" breach of the relevant laws, the Commercial Court has been told.

THE union representing workers in Dunnes Stores, has criticised the retailer for leaving its staff in limbo as to whether a takeover is imminent by another retailer.
