John Murray, 39, of Derragh, Dunmanway, Co Cork, was arraigned at Cork Circuit Criminal Court where he pleaded guilty to damaging the station, threatening to kill Garda Heather Chandler, and dangerous driving.

A man responsible for cash at a McDonald’s outlet pocketed more than €7,000 on trips to the safe has been jailed.

Gardaí responded to an anonymous call claiming that a man produced a gun during a row and put it to the head of another and yesterday a man who admitted possessing the replica semi-automatic pistol and blank cartridges was jailed for 18 months.
