LIMERICK’s crime crisis can be blamed on the Government’s failure to fulfil its election promise to recruit 2,000 extra gardaí, opposition parties claimed last night.

The row over college fees is continuing with Labour’s spokesperson on education, Joe Costello, telling the Minister for Education to “lay-off” students and stop threatening them with the re-introduction of third level fees.
