A fifth Longford man has walked free after being acquitted by a jury of committing violent disorder arising out of an ambush by an armed group on a wedding party and the shooting of two passengers in a car.

A fourth Longford man has been declared not guilty of violent disorder at the trial arising out of an ambush by an armed group on a wedding party and the shooting of two passengers in a car.

A witness has identified three Longford men as having been part of a group of "40 lads" who ambushed his car and shot a family member as they drove to a wedding.
