Gardaí have identified a body found off West Cork on Monday as that of one of two Dutch friends who went missing when walking on the Sheep's Head Peninsula last Saturday.

Valentia Coastguard said the search for a tourist still missing off the Sheep's Head peninsula, Co Cork will resume at first light, if it is safe to do so.

The search for a Dutch tourist missing since last Saturday resumes today after the body of his friend was taken from the sea off the West Cork coast yesterday.

A man who paid $5 (€4.09) for a painting by still-life artist Joseph Decker that had been sitting in a garage for more than 60 years has sold it to the National Gallery of Art in Washington for $1m (€819,000).
