It isn’t very often that the frenetic chatter of the Irish Examiner’s newsroom dies to a whisper.

Current Landmark Media Investments shareholder Ted Crosbie pointed out, in recent years, the Irish Examiner has survived “the Famine, World War 1, the War of Independence, the Civil War, the Great Depression of 1930, de Valera’s Economic War of the mid-30s, World War II and several recessions”.

WEXFORD County Council has expressed dismay at the flouting of its planning laws by millionaire property developer Harry Crosbie.

A DIRECTOR of Thomas Crosbie Holdings —which includes the Irish Examiner— is one of five key figures in the worlds of education, literature, business and philanthropy to be awarded honorary degrees at University College Cork next month.
