Iraqi detainees at Abu Ghraib prison identified Lynndie England as one of the soldiers who abused them, an army investigator testified today.

SENIOR military officers were aware of widespread abuse of Iraqi prisoners by US soldiers, and lower-ranking troops should not be made scapegoats, the lawyer for an accused female soldier said yesterday.

CORPORAL Charles Graner will be the fourth US soldier to be court-martialled over the abuse of Iraqi prisoners when he faces seven charges including maltreatment, adultery and cruelty.
