Three men arrested as part of the investigation into the naming on Twitter of the victim in the Ched Evans rape case have been released on bail, police in Britain said today.

Sheffield United and Wales footballer Ched Evans is to appeal against his conviction for raping a 19-year-old woman in a hotel room, his lawyers said tonight.

Sheffield United defender Connor Brown has been suspended by the club for comments he made on Twitter following team-mate Ched Evans’s jail sentence for rape.
