A Derry man who claims he saw IRA gunmen on Bloody Sunday said he did not divulge the information to avoid taking away from the "cold-blooded murder" of the day, the inquiry heard today.

Bloody Sunday Inquiry chairman, Lord Saville, has moved to allay fears that a witness kept "off the record" an account of seeing a gunman on the day .
