Cork County Council and Port of Cork officials will next month meet with the 10 biggest cruise line operators visiting Ireland in an attempt to sell them more shore excursions to West Cork.

Cork County Council and the Port of Cork are to hold a public meeting in a bid to float fresh ideas to boost West Cork tourism through the cruise liner business.

A BORD Pleanála oral hearing was yesterday told that the Oyster Bank at Ringaskiddy was the most suitable of three sites examined for the Port of Cork’s proposed new €226 million container and cargo terminal.
