All aboard! Culture vultures are set to roam the streets of Ireland tonight sampling some of the estimated 3,000 free events in museums, galleries, theatres, churches, historic houses, and studios for Culture Night — but in Cork, they’ll travel in style.

The man staging a charity variety show in a landmark former church says he hopes the event will demonstrate the historic venue’s potential as a valuable community resource.

The Junctions traditional music gigs are streamlined this year, but, one hopes, sustainable. They fill a gap in Cork’s music scene.
