EMPLOYERS should allow migrant workers longer holidays or unpaid leave to travel home for family weddings and other important events, a new guide to preventing racism in the workplace says.

The Equality Authority has welcomed the Labour Court’s decision to award €15,000 in compensation to a migrant workers who was sacked from her job after being wrongfully accused of stealing bananas.
