Nicolas Roche became just the third Irishman in history to be part of a win at the Tour de France when he helped ensure teammate Chris Froome’s overall victory on yesterday’s final stage of the race into Paris.

Tour de France race leader Tony Martin will wait until this morning to decide whether or not he can start today’s seventh leg of the race after he crashed towards the end of yesterday’s stage.

Newtownards cyclist Martyn Irvine finished 13th overall after the sixth and final event of the multi-discipline omnium cycling event in the London velodrome last night.

Co Down's Martyn Irvine is currently in 14th position after the 4km individual pursuit this morning.
