FÁS has predicted employment figures will rise by 24,000 in 2008 — before plummeting by 31,000 next year.

EMPLOYMENT in Ireland is expected to grow by 60,000 this year — but up to 15,000 jobs will be lost in the construction sector, FÁS claimed yesterday.

THE State employment agency, FÁS, has delivered a positive outlook for the labour market, despite fears of rising levels of unemployment after the announcement of more than 500 job losses already this week.
