Parents of up to 80 trainee pilots, who lost up to €80,000 each when a Waterford pilot training college went bust, are livid at how the Government rallied to help out language school students yet left their children high and dry.

Parents of the trainee pilots left up to €80,000 out of pocket by the collapse of a Waterford pilot school have accused the Irish Aviation Authority of examining the wrong accounts when re-licensing the school last year.

An airline and the parents of students owed money by a pilot training school expressed concern in the High Court yesterday about the running of the school in the last 18 months.
