Britain’s most senior police officer today warned al-Qaida are targeting Britain – and called for new laws to tackle terrorist conspiracies.

A suspected al-Qaida terrorist who was plotting to use the deadly poison ricin has been jailed for life for the murder of a Special Branch detective in Britain, it can be revealed today.
