Bishop-elect in the Diocese of Cork and Ross, Fr Fintan Gavin, has addressed concerns about a la carte Catholicism by stressing that you have to build on where people are at with their faith with the hope of opening their minds to God.

Father Fintan Gavin, 53, will become the fourth bishop to be appointed by the Vatican to join the Diocese of Cork and Ross, since it was formed in 1958.

His Holiness Pope Francis has appointed Fr Fintan Gavin, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Dublin, as the new Bishop of Cork and Ross.
