A 29-year-old former international amateur boxer and champion bare-fist fighter faces a €20,000 legal costs bill after withdrawing a Circuit Civil Court claim for personal injuries allegedly suffered in a road traffic accident.

A man who risked life and injury to assist an elderly passenger and others from a bus that had become engulfed in flames has settled his €38,000 damages claim against Bus Éireann.

A nine-year-old schoolgirl, who lacerated her left index finger in Debenhams’ café in Henry Street, Dublin, has been awarded €10,000 damages in the Circuit Civil Court.
