Irish opera singer Bernadette Greevy has died following a short illness.

IRELAND’S war dead were honoured at a ceremony in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin, yesterday.

Organisers of the Sunset Remembrance service for Pope John Paul II tonight called on people of all faiths to join the commemoration.

President Mary McAleese laid a wreath today to commemorate Irish soldiers who served and died in foreign wars and UN peacekeeping missions.
