FORMER Tory minister Neil Hamilton and his wife Christine yesterday said they were "pleased and relieved" after the woman who falsely accused them of rape was jailed for three years.

The woman who accused Neil and Christine Hamilton of rape was tonight warned she was faced a “substantial” jail sentence after she was found guilty of perverting the course of justice.

CHRISTINE Hamilton, wife of former British Tory MP, Neil Hamilton, broke down and was “terrified” when police arrested her for sexually assaulting a woman, a court has heard.

No action will be taken against a man who was arrested along with Neil and Christine Hamilton.

Neil Hamilton said today the woman he and his wife are alleged to have sexually assaulted is playing a ‘‘high risk game.’’
