ROCKWELL survived a fierce CBC onslaught in the final five minutes of a pulsating Avonmore Milk Munster Schools Senior Cup semi-final at Clanwilliam Park, Tipperary, on Saturday to qualify for their third successive final.

CBC CORK coach Peter Melia had warned his side that Glenstal can’t be taken lightly anymore, and he was emphatically proved right as the Murroe school pushed his troops all the way in this Avonmore Milk Munster Senior Schools Cup quarter-final at Temple Hill yesterday.

A SUPERB drop goal by centre Peter Murray three and a half minutes into added time earned Castletroy College victory over champions CBC at Greenfields yesterday and an opportunity to reclaim the Avonmore Munster Schools Senior Cup they last won in 2008.

CRESCENT Comprehensive got their Avonmore Milk Munster Schools Senior Cup campaign off to the perfect start with a deserving 6-3 victory over CBC Cork at Dooradoyle that sent the reigning champions away on the scenic route for the second successive year.
