CORK’S stranglehold on the FAI Intermediate Cup ended yesterday when the last remaining Munster Senior League club in the competition, Rockmount, bowed out in the last four.

An own goal from Stephen Higgins broke Junior side's St. Kevin's resistance and their hearts as Derry scraped through to the FAI Cup quarter-finals from this third round replay at the Brandywell.

Austin Hannon was the St Kevin's Boys hero with a penalty save at Whitehall as the Junior side live to fight another day.
