ADOPTED people who attempt to contact their birth parents against their wishes, will not face criminal action under new legislation.

ADOPTED people have criticised the decision of Children’s Minister Brian Lenihan not to appoint an adopted person to the incoming Adoption Board.

THOUSANDS of adopted people will be blocked from independently accessing their birth records under a new computerised public record system, an adoption group warned yesterday.
