Laois corner back Rory Stapleton is expected to miss his side's remaining National Football League fixtures due to a dislocated elbow.

Laois chalked up their first win under new manager Liam Kearns this afternoon as they made use of a second half wind advantage to secure a 1-11 to 0-7 O'Byrne Cup first round victory over Kildare.

LEINSTER MFC champions Laois will be wary ahead of their All-Ireland quarter final with beaten Munster finalists Kerry at Pairc na nGael, Limerick this afternoon (2.30pm).

THE clash of Kerry and Laois in the first of the All-Ireland MFC semi-finals at Croke Park tomorrow is the first meeting between these counties since 1996 when they met in the final.
