A pharmaceutical company which is in the process of implementing 200 job losses has announced plans to upgrade its production systems with support from the IDA.

Siptu has called on management of a major pharmaceutical plant to come good on a promise to invest in the future after union members’ voted by more than three to one to accept a cost-cutting deal.

Negotiations are continuing over the move by Bausch and Lomb in Waterford to cut 200 jobs and impose a pay cut on existing staff.
