The ISPCA has seized a young pony that was found tied to an electricity pole without food or water, in Clonmel, Co Tipperary.

Abandoned puppies, a goose entangled on discarded fishing line, runaway rabbits, dozens of homeless kittens and a lurcher dog in a shocking condition were among the rescue missions conducted by the ISPCA over the past month.

A Tipperary man has been fined €250 and ordered to pay a further €850 in costs for failing to care for his dog.
